Welcome to our website. KG Ecoplast is incorporated as a private Limited company in 2023 with the aim to provide a world, free from plastic pollution. The major plastic polluter is the polyethylene carry bags used for various purposes such as shopping vegetable and other essential items. In India, all polybags less than 120 micron thickness are banned and in that process, lot of small scale plastic bag manufacturers have to sell their factory and change their business. KG ecoplast comes with a solution for these polybag manufacturers such that they can utilize their current machineries to manufacture compostable polybags, instead of banned LDPE polybags.
India being an agriculture based country, our primary objective is to utilize starch to get compostable polybags. If starch is mixed with LDPE, its compostability is high compared to only LDPE. But starch being crystalline in nature, higher content of starch can not be mixed with LDPE, So, we have converted crystalline starch to thermoplastic starch by proper plasticization and cooking of starch.
This thermoplastic starch being amorphous can be mixed, rather in correct technical term, be blended with LDPE in higher content say more than 50 %. These blends of LDPE and thermoplastic starch are found to be blowable to get carry bags with sufficient strength. On testing, it is found that these bags are compostable as per ISO 17088 and ASTM 5338. So, with these innovative processes, we can provide a bright future to the coming generation where they will live without plastic congestion and where they will eat sea foods and other foods without any microplastic.
